Well, Israel is stepping up its humanitarian aid program to Darfur refugees–in Chad. This is still great news but is meant, in part, to deflect attention away from the way Israel is treating Sudanese refugees in Israel and in Israeli prisons. Yes, part of Peoplehood is expressing our universal values from our particular context. But it does not absolve us of still doing the right thing on our own doorstep. See Haaretz story here.
