Israeli Govt rolls back Ethiopian Aliya

The government is on record to UJC and others that it has been committed to doubling the aliya from Ethiopia from 300 a month to 600 a month and that this pace will finally take care of the aliya issue and we can collectively focus on klita. However, Peoplehooders know that the government has never implemented its side of the agreement, despite the fact that Operation Promise has already raised $70 million in designated funds for this effort.
Now the Olmert government wants to cut the aliya to 150 a month, which is a Crime Against the Jewish People. We know that people will die in Ethiopia who should be home in Israel and that they will be buried in the Jewish cemeteries in Ethiopia. It is likely that more Jews will die in Ethiopia over the long run because of this desire by the Olmert government than by the war up North. It is irresponsible and immoral. To fight a war for the sake of safeguarding a Jewish state is important. But if are a Jewish state, we have to honor our Jewish obligations.
